Georgia at 4 Days Old

We came home on Sunday but since Monday was Memorial Day, Georgia's first "well visit" at the Pediatrician's wasn't until Tuesday. Getting ready to leave the house was trickier with two little ones... but we loved seeing our kids (plural!) together in the back seat!

Our Ped schedules all the newborn appointments around the same time, so there were 3 others in the waiting room with us! We saw the nurse practitioner- our favorite doctor didn't have any availablity. In our opinion Georgia has been doing great, and the NP confirmed that! Everything checked out perfectly!

Just like Gabriel at his newborn appointment, Georgia was back at her exact birth weight already! They said it isn't expected until 2 weeks old so she is eating very well at this point.

Stats
Weight: 6 pounds, 14 ounces (we weren't told the percentile)

Work Baby Shower

On Saturday, my coworkers threw me a baby shower!! It was actually a joint baby shower for me/going-away party for a coworker, Nicole, who was transferring to another unit. She made the cute baby cake! There was so much food- tacos, dips, fruit, desserts... we eat good on the weekends!

Some of my coworkers!
Getting all my gifts out to my car! Weekenders, thank you!!! It was so nice!

38 Weeks

Total Weight Gain: 27 pounds (as of 38w1d)

Movement: No change from last week. Still moving often but smaller movements in her tight quarters!

Symptoms: Pain (aching and pinching) in my pelvis/hips; some random cramping in my lower abdomen; headache today.

Doctor's Appointments: Heart rate 130's, still head down. Exciting news is I'm already 75% effaced and 2cm dilated!!! In comparison to my pregnancy with Gabriel, at my 39 week appointment (technically I was 38w5d), I was 70% and 1.5cm which is roughly the same as now... both are estimates, of course! I went into labor 2 days later and he was born early in the morning on the 3rd day (39w1d). Getting excited!!! {And suddenly feeling like I have so much to do! Finish packing Gabriel's overnight bag & Georgia's diaper bag including a coming home outfit, wrap Gabe's "Big Brother" present from Georgia, catch up on laundry, vacuum the house, clean the bathrooms, paint my toenails...}

Best moments: Perry & I had a date today, probably our last for a while!! All 3 of us went to my doctor's appointment, then we dropped G off at Nonny & Boo's, had lunch at Remington Grill (I got a spicy buffalo chicken sandwich in hopes of inducing labor), shopped for what Georgia is going to give Gabriel in the hospital, and saw Million Dollar Arm!

What we are looking forward to: Meeting little Miss Georgia!

38 week belly picture: Coming soon...

37 Weeks

Georgia Jane was FULL TERM on May 12, 2014!!

Total Weight Gain: 26 pounds (as of 37w4d)

Maternity Clothes: I spend a lot of time around the house in Perry's t-shirts!

Movement: Her movements are getting smaller and sometimes painful, as she is getting cramped.

What I miss: Sleeping on my stomach; Effortlessly getting out of bed- it's a challenge.

Symptoms: Pain (aching and pinching) in my pelvis/hips. I think she has dropped

Doctor's Appointments: Fundal height 37cm. Heart rate 130-140's and still head down!

Cravings: Nothing really, just often thirsty.

Best moments: Mother's Day- a great day!!

What we are looking forward to: Meeting little Miss Georgia!

Weeks 33-36

Size of baby: pineapple --> cantaloupe --> honeydew --> romaine lettuce. Almost 6 pounds and around 17-18 1/2 inches long! April 14-May 5.

Gender: little GIRL!!! Georgia Jane.

Total Weight Gain: 24 pounds

Maternity Clothes: My maternity jeans (I only have 2 pairs that I wear/like) are getting snug but it's so warm already I'm mostly wearing maternity shorts.

Movement: I think she is choreographing dance routines in there. When she moves, it's almost constant! Then she sleeps.

What I miss:  a cold Jersey Mike's sub. Sleeping on my stomach.

Symptoms:
Week 33- Pubic symphisis pain
Week 34- Nothing significant
Week 35- Seems like she is lower, perhaps the cause of the new pinching pain in my left posterior hip that shoots down my leg like a lightning bolt! Still have the constant ache in my right posterior hip; Woke up by a leg cramp that would not go away for ~30 minutes
Week 36- A lot more uncomfortable Braxton Hicks contractions

Doctor's Appointments:
At my 34 (and a half) week appointment, the doctor said my belly was measuring at 33 1/2. We figure maybe she'll be smaller than Gabriel? But then at my 36 week appt, it was right on track at 36cm. Her heart rate usually fluctuates between 130-140's and she's definitely head down!

Cravings: Nothing notable.

Best moments: Just before my 33-week mark, the custom crib bedding and changing pad cover arrived! It was actually the same day as my baby shower so when Perry came to pick me up after it, he brought along one more present- a giant gift bag! It was so sweet that he thought to wrap it up to surprise me! Since we had her bedding, we could finally make more progress in her room. We changed up the furniture until we found the arrangement we liked best. We pulled down bins full of baby stuff from the attic and took out what we can use again (swing, Boppy, Bumbo, bottles, toys, a few gender neutral clothes). I washed everything of hers and organized her drawers. Perry painted a big, awesome canvas!! I did a DIY art project and framed it; Easter festivities!; Made goody bags for my labor & delivery and postpartum nursing staff.

What we are looking forward to: Mother's Day {my last to share with just Gabriel so it's bittersweet!}; reaching the 37 week full-term mark; meeting our daughter!

A Day On The Farm

We managed to squeeze in one last trip to Virginia to visit Papa & Nana before Georgia is born and traveling gets a bit more challenging. Since my due date is so close, we didn't stay overnight but enjoyed a full day of fun on their farm!

Of course Gabriel fell asleep in the last 30 minutes of the drive there. Papa and one of his "employees" were still working on the farm so we drove around for another 30 minutes to allow Gabe to get a decent nap (and it was much too hot to turn the car off!). Little Dude was grumpy at first...

...but quickly warmed up/woke up and had a BLAST!

Seeing cows
Playing with rocks, the hose, and sticks
Checking out Papa's "digger" {watching was cool, riding was scary}
The temperature climbed to 90-some degrees. Nana was home from work so we cooled off at their house while Papa went back out to finish up his chores. We had dinner (spiedies!) and drove back home.
