525,600 minutes (Part II)

After settling in to our room at the Hampton Savannah, we headed out to explore the city on foot! We stopped in shops, art galleries, cafes, jewelry stores, museums, courtyards, government buildings...

A nice homeless man offered to take our picture together! As we walked away, another man who had been playing Christmas carols on a trumpet switched to "Here Comes The Bride" and pointed his instrument right at us! LOL. We must still have that honeymooner's look (yay!).

<><>Anniversary dinner: The Lady & Sons! Yummm.

Are you ready for just some of the many WHITAKER STREET SIGNS we saw?

Back at the hotel, we started our very own anniversary tradition: sharing something sweet on our leftover wedding napkins! As you can see I brought along a pack of the sparklers (that were meant for our getaway but didn't make it to the reception)... but I forgot a lighter!

The traditional share-a-slice of-your-wedding-cake was a no-go for us, thanks to our horrible & unreliable cake baker!!! She had been wonderful up until October 1st: she offered a free mini-wedding cake for her clients' 1st anniversary but asked that we send her a 1-month reminder. Well, November 7th came & went and still NO CAKE!!! When she did answer my e-mail, she gave some excuse about moving out of town to pursue a higher degree in culinary arts and that some other lady had taken over her cakes. Basically, she did not honor her word or contract!!! Had we known, we could have easily saved the top tier (or just a piece!) from our wedding day!!! This topic & her name/company gets me fired up... anyway, here's our Coke & pralines :)

The next 2 days!

There is a street corner in downtown Savannah, Georgia named after my husband!!!!! (Jealous? I am!)

 Our 2010 Christmas Card picture!

Dinner at the Moon River Brewing Company

Perry calls this picture "Fries in a dog bowl"... we clearly missed our girls! *we greatly appreciate Mom & Paul Jagow for keeping their granddogs for four days!! Our 3 + their 2 (Great Dane and Pit Bull) = a house full of fur!

In Savannah, there is no law against open containers in public. Here we are possessing and consuming our 1 alcoholic beverage in an open plastic container less than 16 oz. It was very exciting for us to walk back to our hotel with a to-go beer!

Perry said this outtake was too funny to not include. Ha. Ha. I have no idea what I was doing/saying!

Heading home (GA --> SC --> NC).
